This lesson plan is for a third grade social studies class that will last for one week. The students will learn about what civil rights are and they civil rights movement. The driving question is: "What is the importance of
the historical events and locations within the civil rights movement?"
The students will get to pick
the location of the topic they want to discuss and make a presentation about
it. They will do research and make a
Google presentation to share with the other students in class. Throughout
research and working on projects, students will break into groups to practice
their presentations and later revise any critiques their peers provided. After
making any necessary revisions, the students will present their projects to the
class and then write personal reflections to post along with their presentation
on the class blog.
